
Artistic Dance Exchange is proud to offer student performance opportunities alongside International guest groups and companies who will perform during the evening gala.
Students participating in the workshops will also be featured in the performance piece learned in the workshops.
Student Group Routines also have the ability to perform and must register through their participating school.
Solos Duets/Trios can also participate in the competition
2 Performance levels:
-Gold Level (Beg-Intermedium). Recommended for dancers that been studying dance for 1-3 years.
-Platinum Level (Interm-Advance). Recommended for dancers that been studying dance more than 3 years.
At the end of the COMPETITION AWARDS, the highest scored routines from each category will compete in our SHOWDOWN GALA, where our artistic team will select a few student group routines and individuals who will then receive invitations and scholarship performance opportunities around the world. **Registrations for the COMPETITION will be closed one week before the event date. Incomplete registrations will not be accepted. The deadline for any changes in the entries is three weeks before the event. Early registration discount deadlines may vary due to holidays per event.
**There is a change fee of $30 for any requests in swapping competition entries less than 5 business days before the event and the cut off for any changes is 72 hours before event.
**Dance studios may apply their own additional administrative fees
SAFETY AND OTHER LIABILITIES
Borona Arts Entertainment, LLC. reserves the right to cancel or reschedule the Aristic Dance Exchange event of unforeseen circumstances beyond the control of Borona Arts Entertainment, LLC. In the event of a location change or date rescheduling, an email notification will be sent and information will be made available on the website. No refunds will be issued.
In the event of Artistic Dance Exchange cancellation, registration fees will be refunded via check.
Faculty and Final schedule may be subject to change. A detailed schedule will be released 2 weeks prior to the event date.
Disclaimer: Borona Arts Entertainment, LLC. staff reserves the right to remove any person (or persons) who presents potential harm, danger or disruption to himself or herself or anyone else while attending the event.
Video cameras and photography are not allowed in the workshop or gala performance at anytime. Borona Arts Entertainment, LLC. reserves the right to use any images taken during the convention for promotional purposes.

Gymnastics will not be tolerated in class or in the halls of the Venue.

Students under the age of 15 must be accompanied by a chaperone.
Dancers will get to experience a day taking classes with our master choreographers and work on a
performance piece for the evening gala.
The ages listed below are simply guidelines; a Teacher may decide whether to place a particular student by age or ability. If a Teacher decides to place a student by age, please remember all workshop and scholarship ages are as of January 1, 2017.

OBSERVERS:
Parents of registered dancers are allowed into the workshop classes if they have purchased an Observer wristband. All Observers must be attending with paid students only and may not be Teachers, Studio Owners or dancers. Observers do not have access to closed rehearsals at any time.
ADE reserves the right to limit observers within each ballroom, subject to attendance and space limitations.
OBSERVERS MUST KEEP THE FOLLOWING IN MIND:

Make sure wristbands are visible for the ADE staff at all times during the workshop classes.

Sit and keep all belongings as far back against the walls as possible to provide the maximum amount of room for the dancers.

No excessive noise or talking during the classes. It can be distracting to the dancers and teacher.

NO videotaping or photography allowed at any point during the workshop classes. Still photos can be taken in between classes, with the faculty, etc.
REGISTRATION:
Registration will close three weeks before the event date.
Workshop registrations and Student Group Registrations must be submitted separately.
Student Group Registrations must be sponsored through a Dance school or Company.
Registration for workshops is open to any participant.
Registration fees for workshops, includes master classes and performance choreography for the Evening Gala.
Ballet
Consist of ballet technique with classical movement, reflecting a ballet style. Use of pointe shoes is permitted.
Contemporary
A contemporary jazz routine that draws from modern, lyrical and ballet movements.Maximum of 3 acro skills permitted.
Jazz
Jazz technique with up-tempo music. Maximum of 3 acro skills permitted.
Lyrical
A style of Jazz & Ballet technique demonstrating clean, classical lines while emphasizing emotional interpretation of the lyrics in the music. Maximum of 3 acro skills permitted.
Musical Theatre
Any style that interprets a song from a Musical, Movie or Broadway show. Can involve (but not required) the dancer(s) lip-syncing the words to the music.
Acro
A style blending dance with acrobatics, emphasizing on flexibility and aerial tricks.
Hip - Hop/Street
Hiphop is a culture rooted in urban social dancing and often calls for the dancer to freestyle (improvisation) and can include breaking, popping, locking, krumping etc..
Tap
Consist of tap technique. Any recorded tap sounds on the music track will be a deduction of 10 points. (Clogging routines should not be categorized as a tap entry but under “Specialty”)
Open
A specific or combination of any style of dance.
Specialty
Can be any style of dance with a focus on a special
talent: ballroom, ethnic/folkloric, character, song & dance,etc.

THE CONVENTION
COMPETITION & SHOWDOWN GALA
CATEGORIES

Each dance school or dance company will be able to submit several routines for the gala, based on allotted available time. Entries will be received and accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. We recommend in submitting your student routine registration as soon as possible to secure your spot!

There are no restrictions as to how many numbers a performer can participate in.

Teachers who own more than one studio may submit entries for each studio, as long as both studios are registered separately.

Live props are not allowed. Small props are welcome. No large scenery, dangerous or oversized props.

Registration fees for workshops and Student Group Routines in the performance gala are non-refundable. Returned check service fee $35.00.
MUSIC
Music for gala competition entries can be uploaded in MP3 Format via the registration site pages. Please follow the on screen instructions during the registration process. NO CD'S will be accepted the day of the event.
ADE does offer a one day workshop option. However, dancers that are registered in the competition must be registered for the full weekend and cannot register for the one day workshop.
One day participants can register for the one day workshop for Saturday OR Sunday. We recommend that participants register for Saturday since the Sunday classes are usually STAGE WORKSHOPS.
One day participants are NOT eligible for any scholarships or PRODIGY ALL- STAR PROGRAM.
JUDGING FOR COMPETITION
Each entry will be judged by a highly qualified panel of judges. All judges' decisions will be final. Contacting or speaking to judges is strictly prohibited at all times in order to give a fair chance to all participants. Dance performances will be judged on the following criteria:
